Otolaryngology is a field of medicine that deals with healthy maintenance and treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract, nose, ears and associated body cavities. We receive both adult and paediatric patients at our otolaryngology consultation.

What happens during an ear-nose-throat examination?

​

At the specialist consultation, our otolaryngologist will take a detailed medical history from you. This is followed by a general otolaryngology examination, during which our specialist physically examines your ears, nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, salivary glands, and cervical region. During the same examination, the ENT consultant may also perform cancer-screening tests.

Once the diagnosis has been ascertained, our specialist will describe the various treatment options, medications and surgical options. The fee for our specialist examination also includes the prescription.

Outpatient surgical interventions are performed at Central Clinic. Rhinoplasty or other one-day surgical services are performed at our partner clinic.

 

How outpatient otolaryngology is performed!

Our specialist performs the intervention under local anaesthesia, which usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes. The patient can go home immediately after the intervention. Post-treatment follow up is arranged for a few days later, which rounds up the procedure. In addition to minor surgeries, we will fully assist you during examinations, follow-up examinations and necessary after-treatments.

Treatment of symptoms of Post-Covid syndrome

Complaints may occur even 4 to 6 weeks after an acute Covid-19 infection, reducing patients' quality of life. Post-Covid syndrome may be associated with the following characteristic symptoms: olfactory disturbance, dizziness, tinnitus. Our otolaryngologist is at your disposal to treat these complaints.

 

This is how an allergy test (prick test) is performed

​The prick test, also known as the forearm skin test, can be used to test for allergens that release histamine, which mainly causes respiratory and gastrointestinal complaints.

During the allergy test, our specialist will prick your forearm with various inhaled and nutritive allergens and then interpret the result after a certain period. The prick test gives a fairly safe result. The test should not be performed while taking anti allergic agents.
