Surgery is the branch of medicine that treats injuries, pathological changes and diseases of patients with invasive, i.e surgical intervention. Some surgical conditions can be treated on outpatient basis, but others may require more extensive surgical undertaking requiring hospitalization.  

Outpatient surgical care at our medical centre include skin surgeries, minor surgeries and proctology services.

This is what happens at a surgical examination and treatment

When you visit our clinic without having any complaints, but on the recommendation of your general physician, our surgeon will physically examine you after taking your medical history.

If you contact us with a specific complaint and are experiencing symptoms, we will start the consultation with a discussion of your general condition, a review of the findings and a general examination. This is followed by a detailed examination focusing on the condition causing the complaint.

Based on the assessment following your examination, we will reach a surgical diagnosis and, if necessary, will refer you for specific laboratory and/or imaging examinations in order to confirm the diagnosis. Depending on the diagnosis, our surgeon may prescribe medication, book you for an outpatient surgical intervention at Central Clinic, or refer you to an appropriate center for a more extensive care. The fee for our specialist examination also includes the writing of prescription.

This is what happens during chronic ulcer treatment

Chronic ulcer most often develops in the lower area of ​​the legs or at the ankles. It mainly affects the middle-aged and the elderly. The cause of ulcers are often vascular or other chronic diseases such as diabetes. Chronic ulcers are treated by our surgeon in a team consisting of vascular surgeons, angiology specialists and diabetology specialists, as in most cases simultaneous examination and care for the underlying condition is also of paramount importance.

Effective treatment of chronic ulcers requires thoroughness and care. The treating physician first cleans the wound surface and its surrounding tissues. He then cleans the wound itself thoroughly of any secretions, dead tissue, scabs, even dirt, and then treats the wound with medication.

Finally, in order to avoid further infections, special dressings are applied on the treated wound.

This is how outpatient surgery takes place

In the case of conditions that can be treated as an outpatient surgical intervention, our surgeon carries out the procedure under local anaesthesia. This sort of interventions usually last 15 to 30 minutes, after which you can go home immediately.

If a suspicious skin lesion is removed during surgical treatment, a histological examination of the tissue is performed.

A few days after surgery, the surgical procedure is completed with a control visit. During the whole process we will fully assist you during the examinations, follow ups and any aftercare.
