Haematology consultation

Haematology is an area of medicine that is still relatively rarely available in private health care. It is a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the blood, hematopoietic and lymphatic organs, as well as their prevention.

All patients with health conditions such as anaemia, blood malignancies, coagulation problems, infertility due to an underlying coagulation disorders, or other diseases of the blood and lymphatic system may require haematological care.

Central Clinic’s provides high quality haematology specialist care to its patients. The haematology practice is led by Prof. Alizadeh Hussain, one of the most sought after haematologists in Hungary.  Prof. Alizadeh will ensure the highest level of care for our patients. Your haematology consultation may be conducted in close collaboration with several other medical co-professions for a complete care, namely angiology, vascular surgery and gynaecological medicine.

Our haematology service at our Partner Institute:

  • bone marrow biopsy

This is what happens at our haematology consultation

At the haematology consultation, our specialist will ask you about your medical history, covering also hereditary diseases in the course of a detailed examination of your general health condition. He will also examine you physically, take into consideration your specific complaints and any symptoms you notice, and then begin an investigation based on the above. The haematology test also includes a detailed blood test from which our specialist analyses the components of the blood. If necessary, a bone marrow biopsy or additional examinations, such as a CT or MR examination, can be performed at our partner institute to reach an accurate diagnosis.

Based on the joint evaluation of the findings and tests, our team conclude an accurate diagnosis and devise a treatment plan.

This is how a bone marrow biopsy takes place

Our specialist performs the bone marrow biopsy procedure under local anaesthesia. This intervention takes only a few minutes, after which it is recommended to lie down for 15 minutes however; the patient may experience a degree of unpleasant pain. Following the bone marrow biopsy procedure, the patient can go home.

Blood clotting examination and counselling - our infertility screening service

Unfortunately sometimes couples thinking about starting a family may experience a miscarriage. Interestingly, very few people know that miscarriages are much more common than realised, with some studies showing that 10% to 15% of clinically proven pregnancies end in a miscarriage.

In haematology, a condition in which series of miscarriage or abnormal miscarriages occur is recognised as when a woman loses her foetus several times in a row before the 24th week of pregnancy. In most cases, a miscarriage (rejection of the foetus) occurs a few days after conception, in which case the women experiences menstruation.

There can be many reasons for a series miscarriage, and to this day, in most cases, the real cause of miscarriage is not known. This phenomenon may be due to, among other things, disorders of the blood clotting system (blood clotting disorder or tendency for thrombosis).

If a predisposition to thrombosis causes a series of miscarriages, the only solution is an anticoagulant treatment. At our haematology consultation, we therefore provide a comprehensive, complete coagulation counselling service for couples that are about to start a family.
